So long Frank…

So long Frank…

So long Frank…
Its with great sadness to announce the death of Mr Frank Rouledge at the age of 91… Frank was a founding member and guitarist of Bats Heath & The Vampires, The 5 Nutters and The Fabulous Fred Heath Band…
Frank was very influential in the early career of Freddie Heath, not only teaching him guitar and playing him records, that would later influence his style.., but it was Frank who formed the original skiffle band, consisting of Freddie Heath(Johnny Kidd) on vocals, Brian England on banjo, Clive Lazell on drums and himself on guitar,  where they rehearsed at my Grandmothers house in Villiers Road, Willesden, London…
Apart from being a fantastic jazz guitar player, Frank was also a keen photographer and took hundreds of pictures of Johnny Kidd, some of which i hope to upload to this website in the near future…
Frank passed away a few weeks ago in Blackburn from a short illness, leaving behind his son Paul…
he was a life long family friend and will be sadly missed…
